This method based on the long
experience of Sensei Schneider out of matter as
practitioner of martial arts like judo, Ju-jutsu
and karate, thus as the fact that as teacher in
various contexts of defense and protection for
the people, it is a simple method with the range
of all. The "Goshin jutsu", contrary to the
other disciplines of Bu Jutsu (art of defense,
of combat), is a discipline of self-defence
where one cannot allow errors or prepare a
setting in scene of fight. Indeed, the
self-defence intervenes at the time of an
aggression in real time and in this case one
cannot "prepare". Defense against an aggression
must be immediate and effective. At the origin
Goshin was a practice gathering various
techniques of Ju Jutsu or Ju Jitsu (soft art)
and was creates to defend oneself. One then
described it as Goshin jutsu. The Masters who
developed the art of the karate, then, included
in their art the concept of self-defense by
calling it "Goshin karate" In self-defence,
there is the word "self" which means oneself,
One could think that Goshin jutsu is used only
to defend oneself. However it is necessary to
extend this discipline to the defense of the
others when they are attacked and cannot defend
themselves. This implies that we can classify
Goshin jutsu in 2 groups:
1) Goshin jutsu (self-defence)
for oneself has the meaning, in this case, to
defend oneself against an aggression carried out
with bare hand or against an armed attacker,
even against several attackers.
2) Goshin jutsu for the defense
of third persons and, in this case, it acts to
carry help to the people who are attacked. It
should be noted that when one speaks about
aggression it acts, within the framework of
Goshin jutsu, only of physical aggression.
It is necessary to distinguish 2
kinds of aggressions:
- the spontaneous and
unforeseeable aggression. It acts here of a
sudden aggression which one did not expect and
who can be perpetrated constantly, at any place
and sometimes without reason.
- the foreseeable aggression, in
this case the aggression is detected in advance
and one can prepare physically and
psychologically in order to manage it as well as
possible.
Principles of Goshin jutsu
In the case of an aggression it
is necessary to consider 2 situations:
1 - the phase of the remote
aggression (blow of fist without seizure,
attacks with a stick, a knife, kick),
2 - the phase of the aggression
where the attacker carried out a seizure by
front, behind, on the side (seized by arm, of
the bust, the head, throttling, seizure with
blow of fist etc.....)
In both cases it is necessary to
try to apply the principle:
"Atémi - release, control and/or
immobilization - atémi (*)"
* (this atémi should be used only
if it is necessary to put the attacker out of
state to harm).
Important note for the
self-defence
It should be understood that, to
defend oneself or protect third persons against
attackers, it implies a control of defense.
Indeed the law of the penal code
specifies well that defense must be proportional
to the attack. To break an arm or a leg of an
aggressor who did nothing but outline one
aggression or which gave you a simple slap, not
either to seize its weapon to him and to make
use of it against him as a counterpart.....
